Real life. Real life is messy. Real life is fun. Real life is triumphs and struggles and celebration and sadness. Real life is all over the place. Real life is chaos. Real life is anything but posed. And that's exactly why real life is one of my absolute favorite things to capture.
I had the pleasure of photographing Yakov and Chen's family recently for an outdoor family photo shoot. We headed out to a big open field where the kids could run around and play and be their happy and silly little selves.
This family is so energetic and fun! Dad laid right down in the grass and tossed his little girl up in the air like an airplane. He was all smiles as his son happily blew on a harmonica while the others danced in tune. Mom knelt down and threw grass in the air in a mini celebration with her daughter. There were genuine smiles.
There was authentic laughter. This is what family photo shoots are made of! This is what love is all about. Families are unique and chaotic, especially when you throw kids in the mix! But amidst that chaos is a deep and stark beauty. Families are authentic and real, and it's truly a treat when you're able to convey that behind the lens. Families are anything but posed, and capturing the love that flows between them is such an incredible honor.
