Why I Love Wedding Photography
It seems like every week I come at you guys with another tip on what to do for some aspect of your wedding or wedding photography. However, it seems to have slipped my mind to ever spend time telling why I love photographing weddings and why I am so passionate about it.
The reason I am so passionate about wedding photography and being a part of other peoples’ big days is because it’s something that will last with them for their entire lives. Other photos come and go. If I shoot business headshots, that’s great. But, once it’s time to move on to another job or update their LinkedIn profile, those photographs become forgotten. But wedding photos are never forgotten.
It’s so inspiring to me that in thirty years, a couple could be showing their kids or their grandkids the photographs that I shot and telling them all about their wedding day. The stories that are behind the photos are what truly inspire me.
Not only am I inspired by how long the photos will last, but I love being able to catch such intimate moments on camera. It is said that photographers are able to capture moments through a lens that would otherwise be forgotten. This is another aspect of wedding photography that keeps me going. Being able to catch a couple’s first look on camera, or their first kiss as a married couple is one of the most beautiful things to me.
I, of course, will continue to shoot all kinds of events and am passionate about all types of photography. But, I felt that with the amount of wedding content that I bring you every week, I owed you an explanation for why I am so passionate about it.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and will be back next week with my typical post!
Until next time,
EliJ
